Situated in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya, Arise and Shine Children’s Home is a place of refuge for over 30 vulnerable children, who through bereavement, poverty or abuse have no family of their own to care for them - children who might otherwise end up as street beggars, sniffing glue in an effort to suppress their hunger and forget their misery (Simon’s case).
Arise and Shine was set up by Matt and Dawn Stevens and is a registered non-profit making organisation that seeks to provide the love and stability of a supportive family, essential for the wellbeing and development of the children in its care.
